Richard was awesome - greeted us by name as soon as we walked in. We were welcomed into the library - offered a glass of wine - and listened to a short but interesting history of the house and we felt very welcomed. He gave us recommendations for dinner and when we got back, there was a small glass of Bailey's and a chocolate left on a tray in our room. Breakfast was wonderful - I loved the attention to detail. We got water with lemon, orange juice with a dash Watkins Almond extract - first Richard brought out a delicious fresh fruit parfait with a light cream flavored with, of course, Watkins Vanilla, and I loved how he always served the women first. Then came the fresh-baked zucchini bread, and then the Vegetable Frittata with fresh Pico, all homemade. It was wonderful to sit around the table and visit with the other guests. He gave us a taste of what it might have been like back in the early 1900's as entering the house felt like going back in time. Richard made sure to let us know that we were welcomed to ask questions and explore. Our bedroom was spacious and beautifully done, with original fixtures and furniture. We will definitely be going back when we travel south again. Well worth the cost. Richard was such a gracious and warm host.

This is mine and my boyfriends third time staying here. It is immaculate! The decor in the main area is lovely. We stayed in the room downstairs called Judge Wilson. It was super spacious and comfortable. Our hosts Richard and David are wonderful. Richard serves all the guests a homemade breakfast that is just so delicious every time. We have also stayed in the room called Martha and it is also very very beautiful. It is a great place to just get away and relax. I can't say enough positive things. We already booked another stay here in August.

It was like staying in a historical museum. But then again, it is a historical home. The home is a museum, and all the items in it are so much to see. There were a lot of small amenities that were around the home that you could use at your leisure. Richard knew a lot about the family and the history of this home. Every morning, he had breakfast prepared for all of the people and usually a nice story behind what we were having. If there was something that could make your stay there better, Richard would do his best to make sure it happens.

Incredible place to stay and incredible host. Alexander Mansion is an experience in itself. We arrived very late but Richard was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The hallway entrance was breathtakingly beautiful. We were offered a choice of wines in the parlour and we unwound there before heading to bed. In the morning we were served the most amazing four course breakfast. All lovingly homemade. We sat at a big dining table and had wonderful chats with Richard and our fellow guests. An experience to remember.

Richard was above and beyond the most hospitable, organized, accommodating, and personable host I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Everything during our stay was an unexpected 10/10 from the meticulously curated perfection of this Victorian Gem, to the marvelous four course breakfast he prepared for us in the morning! Yes, I said four course, lol. We will make it a point to travel back to Winona just to stay at the Alexander again.
